Use this calculator to estimate the number of congressional representatives for each state based on a given set of 2030 populations. The tool also calculates the number of people each state is away from gaining or losing an additional set relative to their calculated apportionment. These numbers provide additional context in instances where a state’s apportionment may be on the cusp of changing. 2030 population projections from a number of different organizations have been hardcoded into the tool. Please see the links below for more information on each organization’s particular set of projections.
A number of other organizations have released apportionment projections, but not the specific population counts for each state. As such, they are not able to be added to the calculator. Their projections can be found at the following places:
