For all counties, votes matched exactly, with the exception of Noxubee County, where the official Democratic Party recap lists two more votes for Joe Biden and one more vote for Ty Pinkins than are present in the precinct-level results file. Election results were joined to shapefiles based on a unique identifier. Edits listed below were made to ensure a proper 1:1 join and/or to corroborate boundaries with a geocoded voterfile and nesting within Board of Supervisors districts, as informed by election returns. For all counties, we cross checked our joined precinct boundary file with a geocoded voter file. In order to make this join, for some counties, we needed updated precinct information from the county (because either the number or names of precincts had changed from the previous statewide election results). In some instances, we were not able to obtain updated information from the county after multiple attempts, and therefore made edits to the existing boundary data based on a representative geocoded voter file. The file will be updated if we receive information to the contrary. In a few counties where we were not able to obtain an official precinct map, we were able to obtain updated Board of Supervisor districts, which, based on the election returns, precincts nested into. We were then able to modify the shapes accordingly using the Supervisor map and geocoded voterfile in tandem. In other cases we received a street report, which is a tabular dataset that relates particular address ranges to particular precincts. Some precinct names were updated to match the election results. Adams: Dist 1., By-Pass Fire Precinct, Dist. 1 Bellemont Precinct were modified to align with a goecoded voterfile. Choctaw: Kenego and French Camp were modified to align with a geocoded voter file. Fentress was merged with Chester. The county confirmed these modifications. Forrest: As informed by election results and a geocoded voterfile, the following precincts were modified to be nested within their respective Board of Supervisors Districts (as provided by the county): Sunrise, Sheeplo, West Hills, Rawls Springs, North Heights, Highland Park, Pinecrest, Sigler Center, Thames, Westside, Richburg, Lillie Burney, Timberton, Hardy Street, Camp, West Petal, Petal Civic Center, Dixie Pine Central, Train Depot, Court Street, and Rowan. Camp and Hardy Street were further modified to align with a geocoded voterfile. The county confirmed these modifications. Grenada: The following precincts were modified to align with a geocoded voterfile: Box 2 Grenada Co Office, Box 4 Taylor Hall, Box 3 City Auditorium, Box 5 EOC Building, and Geeslin Friendship Bapt Church. Hinds: Precinct 43 from 2022 was merged with Precinct 38 based on a geocoded voter file and election returns. Jones: Parkview Baptist and North Laurel precincts were modified to align with a geocoded voter file and information reported publicly by a local news outlet. Lamar: Sumrall and Oral were modified to align with a geocoded voterfile. The county confirmed these modifications. Lauderdale: Map received from county was modified to merge Valley into Pickard. These modifications were confirmed by the county. Leflore: The following precincts were modified to align with a geocoded voterfile: West GWD, North GWD, Schlater, and Minter City. Lincoln: The following precincts were modified to align with a geocoded voterfile: Montgomery, Brignal / Rogers Circle, New Sight, Lipsey, Halbert Heights, Zetus, Pearl Haven, and City Hall. Madison: The following precincts were modified to align with a geocoded voter file: Victory Baptist, First Presbyterian, Canton Anderson Lodge, Canton Bible Church, Farmhaven Station, and Pleasant Gift Baptist Church. This corresponds to a street report received from the county. Pontotoc: Bethel Endville and Sherman were modified to align with a geocoded voter file. The county confirmed these modifications. Prentiss: Baldwyn, Ingram, Cairo, and Hills Chapel - New Hope were modified to align with a geocoded voter file. The county acknowledged the edits we suggested and indicated they are addressing it. Rankin: North Richland, Briar Hill, Oakdale, Northeast Brandon, Cato, D’Lo, Pelahatchie, East Crossgates, and Brandon North were modified to align with a geocoded voterfile. The county confirmed these modifications. Simpson: Mendenhall 1 and Weathersby were modified to align with a geocoded voterfile. This corresponds to a street report received from the county. Smith: Mize and Zion Hill were modified to align with a geocoded voter file. Sunflower: Indianola #3 Southwest was split out of Indianola #3 South and Indianola North merged with Indianola Northeast. Tate: Precinct for Sarah was replaced with Flag Lake, which is the entirety of Sarah and part of Strayhorn 1, as indicated by a geocoded voterfile and information reported publicly by a local news outlet. The remaining part of Strayhorn 1 becomes Sherrod. Tippah: Chalybeate, Providence, Tippersville, South Springs, Peoples, Falkner, North Falkner, North Ripley, Ripley, Chapman, Mitchell, Pine Grove, Palmer, Blue Mountain, New Hope, Dumas, Dry Creek were modified to align with a geocoded voter file.
