been processed by the Texas State Data Capitol Portal and joined to their 2024 Primary / General election VTD boundaries. VTD-level votes were compared against the official canvass of votes from the Texas Secretary of State (https://results.texas-election.com/reports) and contain a handful of minor differences. The only contest we were unable to check is G24PREOWRI, as the official canvass contained more Presidential candidates than the VTD level file. It is unclear why these differences occur, but the largest difference is 2,405 more votes for GRRC01OMCK in the VTD file than in the official canvass. It may be the case that differences arise from how write-in votes are counted, as the largest differences appear to affect candidates with relatively few votes. The files were also checked for TX VTD-district splits. Ultimately, the precinct boundary and election result files are split across two different files. The "_all_" file contains all the election results joined to precinct boundaries, but does not account for the various VTD-district splits at the Congressional level identified in processing and as such, does not contain Congressional district assignments. The "_cong_", "_sldl_", and "_sldu_" files contain Congressional, State House and State Senate results at the most granular units for which data is available. Please note that in order to minimize superfluous splits, precinct splits are only made when a precinct contains votes for candidates in multiple districts, as such district assignments for precincts many not perfectly correspond to the districts themselves, particularly in large, uninhabited areas. There are a handful of instances in which votes are recorded in TX VTDs for Congressional districts that do not intersect with those VTDs. These votes are removed from the "_cong_" version of the file and affect the following precinct, Congressional district combinations: '161-0004B':['17'], '161-0006B':['06'],'161-0006A':['17'], '209-0206':['21'], '161-0005B':['17'],'161-0004A':['06'], '161-0005A':['06'],'161-0007A':['17'], '161-0007B':['06'],'161-0011B':['06'], '161-0011A':['17']. As a result, there are 1,254 fewer total votes in the "_cong_" file, broken down in the following manner: 'GCON06DLOV': 49, 'GCON06RELL': 323, 'GCON17DLOR': 199, 'GCON17RSES': 680, 'GCON21DHOO': 2, 'GCON21RROY': 1.
