The names for columns are from the POPGROUP_LABEL for a subgroup, and the value for the population comes from the total population field for that given subgroup (T01001_001N). Total Population retrieved from the Public Law 94-171 Data (variable P1_001N) from the U.S. Census Bureau Decennial Survey, retrieved via the Census API. Data was exported as a CSV. Three additional populations (Armenian, Somali, and Sudanese) which are not considered Middle Eastern or North African by the Census are included. ## Additional Notes The file contains null values where there is no data from the Census for a given population for that particular geographic unit. The Census may suppress some values as well -- these are recorded as -888888888. Values for subpopulations will not necessarily sum exactly to Middle Eastern or North African alone/alone or in combination values. They also may not sum within nested geographies (e.g. one may get a different return for summing all tracts in a county than the county tabulation).
