This dataset is based on the Alaska House of Representatives shapefile, retrieved from the Alaska Redistricting Board: https://www.akredistrict.org/2022-may-interim-proclamation/

##Processing
The RDH created this file by matching House districts with their corresponding Senate districts, as House districts in Alaska are nested 2:1 in Senate districts. For example, House Districts 1 and 2 correspond to Senate District A.
After matching the assignments, the RDH used the geopandas library in Python to dissolve based on the Senate assignments to create a Senate shapefile.

Enclosed in this zip file the shapefile file for Alaska's Senate Districts ("ak_sldu_adopted_2022.shp") and supporting files, a constituency report ("2022-May-Interim-Core-Constituency.pdf"), and a description of House and Senate districts ("2022-May-Interim-Metes-and-Bounds.pdf").
