##Processing
ACS data for Michigan was retrieved with a python script from the Census.
The tract data is available by county for all counties in Michigan.  The script extracted the data for all counties in Michigan.
The selected variables were extracted from the ACS Census API. 
Each field represents either an estimate or margin of error for a particular variable.
The VAP data is provided by sex and race, so to calculate a VAP estimate, we summed the Male and Female VAP estimates for each race. For the MOEs, we squared the two MOEs for each race, summed them, then took the square root to give an overall MOE estimate for VAP by race.
Processing was primarily completed using the pandas and geopandas libraries.
