##Processing
The ZCTA5 National Shapefile and State and Equivalent Entity National Shapefile were retrieved from the links above. Using a python script and the pandas and geopandas libraries, state shapefiles were extracted from the national shapefile. The national ZCTA5 file was then clipped to each state shapefile to produce a statewide ZCTA5 file shapefile. For ZCTA5s which cross state boundaries, the produced files only represent the ZCTA5 portion for the state listed in this metadata.
